Kentsel Aklı Yeniden Düşünmek Akıllı ve Yerel Bütünleşmesi: Ayvalık Örneği

Nüfusun ve kentleşmenin arttığı, teknolojinin hızla ilerlediği günümüz dünyasında kentlerin yenilikçi çözümlere olan ihtiyacı giderek artıyor. Akıllı şehir kavramı da bu yeni şehircilik arayışları kapsamında ortaya çıkan olgulardan biridir. Akıllı şehir kavramı ile ifade edilen bu süreç genel olarak teknoloji ile ele alınmaktadır. Bu durum, söz konusu bölgenin geleneksel yapılaşma ve mimari mirasını ortaya çıkaran yerel bilgeliğe yol açmaktadır. Yere özgü coğrafi ve kültürel özelliklerle birlikte gömülü kodların oluşturduğu yerel değerler, kentleri akıllı yapan temel unsurlar olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu bağlamda geleneksel yapı dokusu ve bu birikimin günümüzün gelişen teknoloji koşullarıyla bütünleştirilmesi, yerel dokunun sürdürülebilirliği ve tasarımın geleceği açısından hayati öneme sahiptir. Bu çalışmada, akıllı süreçlerin yerel kodlardan ve tek yönlü algı/kullanımdan bağımsız olarak ele alınması sorunu ortaya konulmaktadır. Bu noktada Ayvalık'ın tarihi kent mekânındaki yerel mimari yapı incelenmiş ve Ayvalık yerel mimarisi ekolojik veriler bağlamında değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak sorunlar ve potansiyeller ekseninde yerleşim dokusunun iyileştirilmesine yönelik ilkeler oluşturulmuş ve öneriler sunulmuştur. Kentsel akıl ekseninde konuma özgü verilerin etkin kullanımını öngören bu çalışma, akıllı şehir kavramının bu bağlamda ve yerel akılla yeniden düşünülmesinin önemini vurgulamaktadır.

In today’s world, where population and urbanization are increasing and technology is advancing at a rapid pace, cities are increasingly in need of innovative solutions. The concept of a smart city is one of the facts that emerged within the scope of these new urbanism quests. This process, which is expressed with the concept of smart city, is generally handled with technology. This situation leads to the local wisdom that reveals the traditional construction and architectural heritage of the region under consideration. Local values formed by embedded codes along with geographical and cultural features specific to the place are considered to be the main factors that make cities smart. In this context, the integration of traditional building texture and this accumulation with today’s technology developing conditions has vital importance in terms of sustainability of the local texture and the future of the design. In this study, the problem of handling smart processes independently from local codes and one-way perception/usage is set out. At this point, the local architectural structure in Ayvalık’s historical city space is examined and Ayvalık local architecture is evaluated in the context of ecological data. As a result, principles were created for the improvement of the settlement texture in the axis of problems and potentials, and suggestions were presented. This study, which envisages the effective use of location-specific data on the urban mind axis, emphasizes the importance of rethinking the concept of smart city in this context and local mind.
