Akdeniz coğrafyasındaki kültürel, sosyal ve ticari karşılaşmalar yapılı çevreyi de etkilemiştir. Bu etkinin çarpıcı bir örneği olan Venedik'teki “Fondaco dei Turchi” kullanımı bu çalışmada ele alınmıştır. Fondaco dei Turchi, Avrupa liman kentlerinin karakteri olan ticaret evi tipolojisinin karma kullanımının Türk Hanı kullanımı ile de birleştiği önemli bir örnektir. Yapıda, ticari ilişkilerin açık fikirliliği yeni işlevsel alanlar üzerinde önemli bir etkiye sahiptir. Fondaco dei Turchi, Venedik'teki Türk tüccarlar tarafından kullanılan bir serbest bölge alanına sahiptir. Bu da ona ticari bir elçilik işlevi kazandırıyor. Bunun yanı sıra geçici konaklama ve hamam, mescit gibi Türk kültür mekanlarının ihtiyaçlarının da dahil edilmesiyle ticaret evi kavramı Akdeniz kültür mozaiğinin izlerini taşıyarak ticaret hanına dönüştürülmüştür.
Abstract
Cultural, social and commercial encounters in the Mediterranean geography also affected built environment. The use of the “Fondaco dei Turchi in Venice, a striking example of this influence, was discussed in this study. The Fondaco dei Turchi is an important example in which the mixed use of typology of trade house (which is the character of the European port cities) is also combined with the use of the Turkish Han. In the building, the open-mindedness of the commercial relations has an important effect on new functional spaces. The Fondaco dei Turchi has a free zone space used by Turkish traders in Venice. This gives it a function as a commercial embassy. In addition to this, the concept of trade house has been transformed into a trade inn by taking the traces of the Mediterranean culture mosaic with the inclusion of temporary accommodation and the needs of Turkish cultural spaces such as baths and masjid.
