The culture and art projects in Beyoglu are used as a legitimate tool to establish political hegemony as well as tourism-oriented profiteering transformation. In this article; we aim to enlarge the discussion of Beyoğlu Cultural Route by considering its relationship with the ongoing transformation in the Golden Horn from past to present. Especially after the 2000s, the planning process in Beyoğlu and the Golden Horn in particular, and urban transformation and culture-art projects emerge as a part of the strategy of making the place a marketable brand. Therefore; the project of Beyoğlu Cultural Route, which constitutes the cultural pillar of the ongoing transformation in Beyoğlu, should be evaluated holistically with the transformation on the shores of the Golden Horn due to the similar policies of the local and central government.
